Events Coordinator
Our client is East Africa’s largest Shopping, Recreation and Entertainment destination. The complex is home to over 150 outlets covering 210,000 square feet of retail space, 20,000 square feet of office space in addition to a recreation facility.
Due to expansion and growth, we are looking for an “Events Coordinator”. The successful candidate will be part of a vibrant team at the Shopping complex and a self-contained marketing and PR unit that would serve the current and new development in 2016.
Duties and Responsibilities;
- Organize, run and monitor all periodic and regular events and related activities to ensure they run smoothly as planned to the satisfaction of the management, sponsors & participants.
- Coordinate all services for the events; facilities, catering, signage, displays, special needs requirements, printing and event security.
- Plan and develop programs, agendas, budgets, and services according to event requirements.
- Meet with sponsors and organizing committees to plan scope and format events, establish and monitor budgets, or to review administrative procedures.
- Evaluate and select providers of services according to events requirements and handle resolutions of any problems that may arise.
- Manage all the vendors to ensure that all the required products and services are provided on time as per the procured standards.
- Inspect event facilities to ensure that they are properly setup.
- Develop a themed events diary for all calendar events, be proactive to propose, organize and run fun and social events.
- Consult with management to determine objectives and requirements for events such as meetings, conferences, and conventions.
- Review event bills for accuracy, approve payments, prepare and present after-event reports.
- Arrange the availability of audio-visual equipment, transportation, displays, and other event needs.
