Sales Manager – On Site Energy

Our client is seeking to recruit a Sales Manager.
Job Purpose
The key accountabilities of this position will be;
- Ensuring sales through tracking of current customer base requirements for repeat sales potential.
- Exploring and converting new business opportunities that result in increased revenue and profit for the Division.
- Ensuring that accurate information on competitors is presented to the Manager thereby supporting the development of strategies that are aimed at increasing market share.
- Ensuring that customer’s needs are understood and fulfills customer needs with highest quality standards for total satisfaction.
- Analyzing market information on product pricing to formulate appropriate prices / quotations for orders to meet gross margin and profit requirements as well as the customer’s requirement.
- Identifying potential customers, understanding their business requirements and presenting the company’s products and services in a manner that convinces the customer to place orders.
- Gathering and analyzing market information on competitor activities to ensure the Division competitive edge in product, pricing, services and systems.
- Exploring and converting new business opportunities through effective customer identification, surveys, competitor analysis, market information and tender analysis in order to exceed annual business targets.
- Understanding customer requirements and delivering products of the highest quality thereby setting industry standards, ensuring, and customer delight and developing a loyal customer base.
- Assessing creditworthiness of the customer, promoting secured payment terms and ensuring timely collection of money thereby minimizing the company’s risk of bad debts.
- Regularly interacting with the customer to inquire on product performance and offering timely assistance in the resolution of all queries thereby maintaining a healthy and profitable relationship between the company and the customer.
Role and Responsibilities
Customer Handling (Customer Satisfaction / CRM)
- To ensure that customer receives a faultless experience when making contact or visiting the showroom.
- Ensure customers are made aware of all products and services.
- Make regular contacts with key customers.
Administration (Adherence to sales procedures)
- Ensure sales procedures are followed diligently (example ADP)
- Ensure all process and SOP’s of organizations are met
Commercial Awareness (MIS)
- Profitability, debtor management, stock management, GP
Prospecting (Prospect activity)
- Evaluate and identify potential customers.
- Visit, contact and build relationships with key external companies and key prospective customers with emphasis on follow up and communication of all offers and products available.
Functional Competencies / Skills Required
- Should be a preferably Engineering graduate with post-graduation in management specialized in marketing from a reputed institution.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in sales of Generators (Experience in undertaking tender business and solution providing will be useful )
- Experience dealing with customers in a retail environment
- International exposure is must- Mainly African continent
- Should have excellent communication skills
- Sales expertise

- IT skills
