Job Advert: Hospitality Facilitator



CAP Youth Empowerment Institute Kenya, is supported by MasterCard Foundation, was established to provide Basic Employability Skills Training (BEST) for disadvantaged youth in the society with particular focus on women to get equitable, qualitative learning and access to promising labour market oriented opportunities, savings and credit that support their pathways to safe and positive futures.


The key purpose of the organization is to assist 10,000 disadvantaged youth to make informed choices, develop labour-market oriented employability skills and access job placements, savings and enterprise development support.


 


About the position: Hospitality Facilitator will be posted in one of our Centres and will be tasked to train the youth on hospitality as well as getting placements and internships for them.

Duties & Responsibilities



  • Training and equipping the students with hospitality skills.

  • Sourcing of employment and internship opportunities for the students.

  • Sourcing of guest lectures and organizing field/industry visits for the students.

  • Visit students while on internship to assess their performance.

  • Maintain an upto date record of students.

  • Ensure students maintain highest levels of discipline at all times.

  • Source for mentors for the students.

  • Participate in roadshows to recruit students to join the program.

  • Follow up with students both on internship and placement to get feedback on their performance.

  • Maintain copies of appointment letters for all students that have been placed.

  • Ensure that students attend classes as required.

  • Provide students with resources for studying.

  • Link the youth with potential employers.

Requirements


  • Minimum One (1) year working experience in the hospitality industry, with exposure in House Keeping, Food and Beverage service and Front Office.

  • Degree/Diploma in Hotel/Hospitality Management.

  • Must have passion working with young people.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle diverse tasks simultaneously using prioritization.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Must have strong networking skills.
